Nobody gets left behind! It’s a statement that we made right from the early stages of planning for the Endurance Expedition. The worst thing for a pilot is losing the safety of a carrier and being left way out in the black.

Up until now, the Endurance expedition team have only had to collect pilots a carrier jump or so behind the expedition. Sometimes we all miss that vital bus or train connection. It happens. Today though we discovered a bigger problem though during a squadron member check. During the decommissioning of CMDR Dim3bar’s carrier a couple of weeks ago, a CMDR had been left behind in Colonia with the mothballed carrier.

CMDR Dim3bar had decided to prepare early for the console CMDR account transfer and returned his carrier to the Colonia bubble. Unfortunately, a CMDR onboard had gone on holiday and was unaware that he was on the ‘Flying Casually’. He thought he’d landed on the ‘Hebridean Isles’ before departing on vacation. Logging in the CMDR found he was stranded in the Magellan system on a mothballed carrier!

Currently, Operation Discovery is underway to get that stranded CMDR back to us. CMDR Dim3bar is gallantly heading back to Colonia to collect his carrier and the stranded CMDR. At the time of writing, he should get back to Colonia today! The carrier ‘Lewis & Clark’ left the bubble yesterday packed full of tritium to assist with the carrier refuelling operation (a massive thanks to mfggrimm71 and Jaxx212 for their critical support).

The plan is for CMDR Dim3bar to get back to Colonia (around 30,000ly from where the expedition is currently located), and refuel his carrier using the tritium provided by the ‘Lewis & Clark’. He will then jump back 30,000ly to the expedition with the stranded CMDR and any other expedition latecomers who want to join, onboard the newly reactivated ‘Flying Casually’.

The carriers ‘Hebridean Isles’ and ‘Mornington Crescent’ will continue to jump on Wednesday to the Sutchooe JD-C b13–4 system. The carriers will, however, remain in that system until Monday 27th June to give the rescue team additional time to catch up. The Carrier ‘Garden of Thoreau’ Carrier has already jumped to the next stop -Sutchooe JD-C b13–4 — ahead of schedule to mine tritium in preparation for an upcoming excursion.

The ETA for the expedition arriving at Beagle Point remains unchanged — July 8th.
