The Search for Tritium

As you may have noticed, the star density has fallen quite rapidly over the last few days. The Endurance Expedition is entering the hardest phase of the Expedition. With a decline in the number of stars around us, Tritium is going to become an increasingly critical issue. We do have decent reserves at the moment but these will dwindle as we move closer to Beagle Point. This is all about planning for the arrival and return journey from Beagle Point.

At the moment we are trying to identify systems along the route to Beagle Point that have Tritium that can be mined. Hebridean Isles will have just enough fuel to reach Beagle Point but the return journey will need new sources of Tritium to refuel and replenish the carriers. The reserves in Mornington Crescent will help but we cannot rely on them completely. We will need to supplement that reserve with as much Tritium as we can mine. At some point, we intend to moor a carrier near a Tritium extraction area to mine as much as we can over a few days.

So how can Expedition CMDRs help over the coming weeks?

1. Report any Tritium locations you find as you explore via the Discord or Squadron bookmarks. The closer to the carrier the better but if the Tritium site is good we would be willing to jump carriers to that site.

2. Any Tritium mined will be gratefully purchased by the carriers. We hope to get a mining wing working to have a little fun and also ease some of the workload. Hopefully, it should be easier and more productive to mine as a wing rather than as individual CMDRs.

3. Tritium can be delivered to any of the carriers but Mornington Crescent has a good price and CMDR Hatch will distribute the Tritium out to the carriers when needed. Heb isles might have the shipyard and outfitting but the Crescent’s fuel reserve role is going to be critical.
